The BoligFunn Platform
Much of the work with this project was to determine what was missing within the real estate market. We created various design variations to test our hypotheses of what held the most value, such as tools for analysis and various tags for home posts. After testing various concepts, we ultimately decided that a marketplace for homes that were "considering to sell" filled a missing gap in the market and that there was actual demand surrounding the product. This gap was for the home owner who wanted a low threshold way to explore their options. In parallel, this created a unique opportunity for potential buyers who could discover real estate gems before they came to market.
Publishing your home on BoligFunn would allow users to bypass expensive fees of traditional real estate platforms, such as Finn. It would also give them insight into interest surrounding their home and ultimately, could lead to the sale of their home without all the usual hassle (finding a realtor, photographer, etc).
For the UI/UX, we wanted the design to communicate the same virtues as our offerings: ease of use, availability to all, but also professional and dependable. The platform is connected to Vipps, which allows you to verify identity and access the homes that are registered under your name. Each residence is linked to Matrikkel information, so various of the data points should already by filled out and available for you to verify. In this way, publishing a post for your home is a simple as it can possibly get.
For the branding, we wanted something that reflected Scandinavian architecture. Shades of blue are contrasted with light yellow, reminiscent of Norwegian summers. I also created an silhouette oriented illustration style that was versatile whilst remaining a balance of playful, yet professional.
The BoligFunn logo also is a play of negative space and silhouettes, in classic Scandinavian minimalist style. The negative space in the shape of a house gives an immediate understanding of BoligFunn's subject, before even having read the name or seen any further description.
